Page Rank |
Named after the founders of Google, one of the
key elements used by Google to determine a site's relevance to a
user's search. It is a measure of the quantity and relevance of
links to a web page (not a web site). Hence there may be many
links to a given web page, but if they are from irrelevant web
pages, that destination web page will not necessarily have a high
Page Rank.

Scalable |
A computer application or product
(hardware or software) is said to be scalable if it can continue
to function well when changed in size or volume in order to meet
a user need. Typically, the rescaling is to a larger size or
volume. For example, your database has grown 10 fold with
information, is your system sufficiently scalable to accommodate
the increased information. Also, it is the ability not only to
function well in the rescaled situation, but to actually take
full advantage of it. For example, an application program would
be scalable if it could be moved from a smaller to a larger
operating system and take full advantage of the larger operating
system in terms of performance (user response time and so forth)
and the larger number of users that could be handled.
